Up the garden path...

Its a very busy time at Angel HQ.  We are preparing samples of our new Angel Linens designs for the Pulse trade fair, in London, at the end of this week - more of which later.

Despite this workload, I managed to sneak away from the workshop, this afternoon, for a quick stroll around the garden.  I had to marvel at the generosity of Mother Nature in making my wild garden look beautiful despite its total neglect...by yours truly!

Style Made Simple...

I have always been a fan of Victoria Harrison's writing and her lovely blog Style Made Simple is on our 'must read' list.  It goes without saying, therefore, that we were thrilled when she asked if she could feature us in her latest post.  Take a look for yourself and you could be the lucky winner of one of our vintage linen Beach Hut cushions...

Picture Perfect...

Today I have been playing with Mosaic Maker an online tool that allows you to create your own inspiration boards.  It is perfect if you don't happen to have Photoshop [or similar] available at your fingertips.  It is free and, take it from me, incredibly simple to use!  You can choose to upload your images from a variety of sources and you can even choose the background and frame colours.  It does, however, re-size all the images as squares so choose your source material carefully.

This is my first attempt, featuring some of my vintage linen designs, so please be kind...

Twinkle Twinkle...

We always have some of these gorgeous vintage [Amish] Barn Stars in our store.  They have become very popular recently and we now see them in all the magazines!  Now, we don't have anything against the reproduction ones, they make great decorative pieces, but we think that part of the charm of a vintage piece is the story behind it.  That's why we only stock the real thing!  Each one is completely unique with a look that only comes with genuine age.

Inspiration Calls...

I have spent a lovely afternoon in the studio, working on some more new designs, which need to go to photography, before launching at Pulse in a couple of weeks and yes, I know I am leaving it a bit late but when inspiration strikes... what is a girl to do?

Since I can't show you the actual designs, just yet, I thought a few pics of the studio might act as a substitute for now?  It's not pretty and it's certainly not tidy but it's mine...

Before [and after] clean up!

Lazy Afternoons...

It's a gorgeous day here at Angel HQ and whilst we have only just started the working week [boo hoo], we are already looking forward to spending some time outside lazing in the sunshine [yippee].

These lovely Petal Lanterns are some of our favourite designs at the moment.  Too good just to use inside the house, take them outside and let them 'decorate' your alfresco dining table...

Get Ready for Summer...

In a fit of pre-summer madness, caused by too much sun, the Angel HQ team have decided to give everybody the opportunity to purchase one of our vintage linen Beach Hut cushions for £20.00 off the usual retail price for a limited period [and whilst stocks last].

In the Press

Finally, the June edition of Homes and Gardens magazine has hit the shelves in our local newsagent.  Couldn't wait to get our grubby hands on a copy and see our vintage linen cushion designs in print.  Fame at last!  The lovely Melanie Molesworth has done a fabulous styling job and we think our cushions look gorgeous!

Let's Go Fly A...

It has been sunny but very windy here for the last couple of days.  The perfect weather for kite flying don't you think?  The design for our Kite Cushion, part of our vintage linen range, was inspired by many happy memories of kite flying as a child.  I remember running, full tilt, along the tops of hills desperate to keep my kite in the 'big blue' for as long as possible or, at the very least, longer than either my brother or sister - there's nothing like a bit of sibling rivalry!

If you go down to the woods today....

... you are in for a beautiful surprise!  Chris came across woods carpeted in bluebells whilst taking a break from maize planting earlier today.
He spotted this flower in amongst all that blue.  Is it a white bluebell?  Is there such a thing?  Am I showing a frighteningly poor knowledge of local flora & fauna?  Answers on a postcard please!

Workshop with a View

One of the joys of living and working in the countryside, is the view from the workshop windows.  Looking out at the garden, the wildlife pond [which needs some attention!], the orchard and the fields beyond.  Its a wonder we get any work done really!
